How to Record Series on DStv

If you’re a DStv Explora user, you can easily record a series of your favourite shows by following these simple steps: 

Step 1: Look for the series icon next to the program you want to record and press OK. Then, select ‘Record Series.’ 

Step 2: The DStv Explora will automatically schedule any new episodes that air within the next 8 days. You can find them listed under ‘Schedules’ in ‘Planner.’ The entire series will also be listed in ‘Series Manager’ in ‘Planner.’ 

Step 3: You can edit or delete the series recording at any time. Additionally, you can prioritize your series so that the DStv Explora knows which one is more important to you in case of a conflict.

Step 4: When the program is recorded, you’ll find it listed under ‘Playlist’ in ‘Watch Now.’ If there was an issue with the recording, it will be listed under ‘Failed Recordings’ in your ‘Schedules.’

How to Activate PVR on DStv

If you want to activate PVR on your DStv decoder, call the multichoice customer support team and request that the PVR function be activated.

  • You can only record up to 220 hours of your favourite shows and programmes on the DStv Explora decoder.
  • Check upcoming recordings in the Scheduler menu. Cancel the ones you no longer need.
